Calorex Swimming Pool Heat Pumps

Calorex Heat Pumps
Heat pumps
are by no means a strange invention. Similar in operation to a
refrigerator, they absorb energy in the form of heat and moisture from
outside air, upgrading this energy to a usable form of heat through the
unique ability of their refrigeration circuit. Heating
your swimming pool with a Calorex heat pump could not be more
straightforward and economic. At a cost that won't spoil the enjoyment
you, not the weather, will be in control, ensuring your pool will always
be at just the right temperature even when the sun isn't shining.
Heat pumps are a very efficient way to heat your swimming pool, heat pumps
can provide up to five times in relation to the amount of energy they
consume.
 |
Heat pumps require no complicated gas supply oil
tanks or flues. |
 |
Heat pumps can provide up
to five units of energy for everyone unit paid for. |
 |
Heat pumps will operate from small capacity
electrical supplies. |
 |
Heat pumps are easy to install, quiet in operation
and as a result of their design, inherently reliable. |
 |
Heat pumps are fully automatic - all you have to do
is set the thermostat to your required pool temperature. |
Swimming
Pool Heating
Heat pumps extract free energy from outside air over a
variety of temperatures from -15°C to +40°C. This energy is harnessed by
the heat pump for water heating, units incorporating suitable heat
exchangers. Since only a small amount of electrical energy is required,
heating output can be up to 5 times electrical input i.e. 500% efficiency.
No boiler or electric heater can exceed 100%.
Why a
Calorex Heat Pump?
Calorex is the world's leading manufacturer of swimming
pool heat pumps and is renowned for it's innovation, range and quality of
products. A proud claim, backed by over twenty five years of design,
manufacturing and operational experience with thousands of units operating
in hundreds of countries worldwide.
Calorex
Heat Pump Efficiency
By careful design Calorex Heat Pumps are capable of providing your pool
with up to five units of absorbed heat for every one unit paid for. Even
on a cloudy cold day when the temperature may only be 10°C, they will give
three units for every one consumed.
The
diagram to the left illustrates the way in which
a heat pump absorbs, upgrades and transfers heat from outside air to
swimming pool water. All Calorex heat
pumps contain a fully sealed non-CFC refrigeration circuit which is
specifically designed to operate as a swimming pool heat pump. This means
that all components used in their construction are designed to give
maximum efficiency at typical swimming pool temperatures. Furthermore, the
choice of material and construction will give years of trouble free
service.

Calorex Compac AW6CP
Swimming Pool Heat Pump
How does it work?
Heat is transferred to the pool water from the ambient air using a
vapour compress or cycle similar to that
found in a refrigerator.
Features:
•Extracts heat from the air and
uses it to heat pool water
•Forevery1Kwofenergyused,
approximately 4kW of energy is generated*
•2 years warranty
•UK support and backup
•Titanium heat exchanger
Clean and environmentally friendly The low energy consumption
coupled with high heat production makes a Compac heat pump an
environmentally friendly way to heat your swimming pool. Unlike
alternative ways of heating your pool, the Compac requires no fuel
storage tank or high capacity electrical supply and produces no
smells, fumes or CO2 gases.
Easy installation
Your Compac heat pump should be installed outdoors, allowing
adequate airflow to the unit. It should be installed up stream of
any pool purification systems and chemical dosing systems. Care
should be taken not to add chemicals directly to the skimmer which
would result in concentrated chemical solutions passing directly
through the Compac, and water quality should be maintained with in
recommended standards to maintain the guarantee.
Low pool heating bills
You pay only for the cost of electricity to run the motor
inside – the heat that is absorbed from the air is free,
making a Compac heat pump efficient and cost
effective.

Need A
Solar Cover? -
covers prevent heat loss from your swimming and can also assist with
heating your pool using sunlight. As much of 70% of heat lost from
you swimming pool is through evaporation, a solar cover acts as a water
vapour barrier, stopping evaporation therefore dramatically reducing heat
loss. When using a solar cover with a heat pump, the solar cover
will reduce your heating costs.
