The design of the Notika
swimming pool includes an ingenious assembly system
that combines wood and steel. Unlike similar products
currently on the market, the wood of the
swimming pool does not support the structure nor does
it sustain mechanical stress or water pressure. The
solid steel substructure does all the work. This tried and true material used
for over 40 years in the industry is very stable even
when exposed to significant climatic variations.
Therefore, much like a bridge or a skyscraper, it is the
metallic substructure that ensures the solidity and the resistance of the
entire structure. Consequently, the wood used in this pool has a purely
aesthetic function and is never subjected to structural tension. This
unique design ensures the solidity and the beauty of
the pool for many years to come.
The
strength of steel
Unlike the wooden pools currently available on the market,
Zodiac, supported by Vogue’s expertise, has designed an innovative concept in
which steel is the structural component that retains the water, allowing the
wood to play a purely esthetic role.

The two parts that make up the sturdy 24
cm (9”) top seat of the Notika help reinforce the strength and enhance the
stylish design of the pool. They are held in place with a steel assembly
system that is embellished by stainless steel hardware, adding a
distinguished metallic touch. |
Designed from a proven process used for
over 40 years and currently used in most pools on the market, the robust
steel wall supports the entire structure. Thus, the wood has an entirely
decorative purpose and is not subjected to stress caused by water pressure.
The corrugation of the wall strengthens resistance to pressure, and the
galvanized zinc coating protects the pool from corrosion.

| The 14 cm (5.5”) wide and 1.32 m (52")
high uprights act as a stable support for the steel wall. They are covered
with wood to blend harmoniously with the rest of the pool. Their lateral
stainless steel finish attractively reflects the metallic touch of the
assembly system’s hardware. |
| The wood panels are delivered
pre-assembled in order to make assembly easier and ensure dimensional
stability. Made from high-temperature treated jack pine, they resist
remarkably well to warping caused by climatic changes and moisture. The
unique “floating” panel design allows shrinking and swelling of the wood to
occur without damage to the structure. In addition, the panels are assembled
with plastic extrusions to avoid direct contact with the ground. |

Unmatched Durability
In order to reduce the formation
of cracks or fissures that could weaken the
wood and allow moisture
penetration, most of the screws are
inserted into metal
rather than the wood. |
Floating Panels
Floating panels let the wood move naturally (shrinking and swelling),
allowing it to adapt to the exterior conditions with no damage to the pool. |
Moisture Protection
The wall panels and the boards covering the uprights are not in contact with
the ground. In order to limit moisture-related problems, the panels are
inserted into a plastic extrusion that is then inserted into the bottom wall
channel, and the boards slide alongside the uprights and rest on the joiner
plate. |

Sturdy and Adjustable
Assembly System The top seat is held in place with a steel assembly system
embellished by stainless steel hardware. The system increases the pool’s
strength by securing the top seat to the joiner plate so that the steel
bears the stress rather than the wood. |
Easy Installation
Notika’s steel structure is installed as easily as any other steel pool. The
sections of the wood siding (panels and boards) are easily assembled by
sliding them into the bottom wall channels or into the metal uprights. |
High Quality Ladder
Built from the same beautiful wood as the Notika, the ladder brings a touch
of sophistication with its wide and inviting steps. Furthermore, the
exterior part of the ladder is detachable and can be removed for added
safety between swims. |
